It's party time

Hi it's again winter and that  old, good man Santa Clause is yet to come. Can any body tell me what is secret behind his red dress? I tried to investigate on that.

First I asked a communist of West  Bengal. He said, "Santa is a born communist. That's why he wears red dress."

Then, I asked a regional manager of Airtrel. He said,"Perhaps Santa has been a brand ambassador of Airtel whose colour consists of a combination of red and white. So, to keep his image, he wears red and white."

Then I asked a kid why Santa wears red. He casually answered that it's because red is the colour of love. This is thing that Santa actually spreads.

So, that is Christmas all about. Itn't it?

Kolkata Carnage

On 21 November, 2007, there was a procession in Central Kolkata which quickly changed to a violent attack on common people. The ordinary city life was totally affected. The agitated mob destroyed cars, ignited fire on buses and cars. The set fire on ambulence, school children were kept in school for a long time after standard school hours. Even police and army could not control the situation.

What changed our cultural capital of India into a place of religious carnage? Some says Rizwanur ( a youth whose death was mysterious) and protest against Taslima Nasrin. Now, there are peaceful ways of protests. Also, Taslima Nasrin is neither an islamic fundamentalist nor a threat to India. So, she has the right to apply for VISA to stay in India.

If protests are done in such a barbaric way, then common people have to suffer and in future the government has to order to shoot the miscreants. Will that be good for the image of the city as well the role of protesters? Next time perhaps, the protesters should think of some peaceful ways that won't affect our busy metro life in any way.

Saawariya vs. OSO

Which film is better?

Watching OSO with your friends and family may be a good time pass for you. Waching Saawariya with the same people may be boring. Well, that was the excerpt what media reviews gave about Saawariya  and Shah Rukh starrer OSO. SRK has always said that media is against him. Today, we can see it ‘practically’. SRK is a great liar. Campaign for OSO could not be successful unless media would support it and its hero hugely. And you can see how disgracefully CNN-IBN has supported OSO ( Om Shanti Om). It seemed to me that CNN-IBN had become the ‘Dalal’ (agent) of SRK to make the movie a hit. And to defame OSO’s competitor Saawariya, it has given rating to that film as low as 1 out of five. Even on today, the Bengali newspaper, ABP is backing OSO. From the venue of OSO, Ananda Bazar Patrika is giving OSO and Shah Rukh Khan a huge publicity and of course the negative publicity to Saawariya.

It’s the people who should decide whether they are brainless or not and go for watching the movie OSO or Saawariya. Not only Bhansali, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor should campaign for their movie but it’s the responsibility of other casts like Salman Khan and Rani Mukherji to campaign for Saawariya. As far as heroines of the two films are concerned, Sonam Kapoor (Saawariya )is much more lovely looking and talented than Dipika Padukone(Om Shanti Om).

Shah Rukh Khan has taken so many superstar of Bollywood and a funny story (comedy) to make people hooked to the film. They got good reviews also. Saawariya got bad reviews, two newcomers but a stronger story. Sanjay Leela Bhansali should remember that in India, hit film in India does not mean a ‘good story’ but a ‘good comedy’. Average Indians either lack intelligence or they are reluctant towards firms with tragic ends. But from neutral movie critics view, I consider Saawariya a bigger and better film than OSO. And kudos to Bhansali, who is not another slave of SRK, as Farha Khan is.

Note : - If you ask SRK what Farah Khan is doing while filmmaking then SRK would perhaps answer in this manner: "She is trying to k..k...k..k..k..kopy (copy) old films."

Bollywood

King Khan vs. The Rebellion

Bollywood has always favoured Shah Rukh Khan. Every time in Diwali, when his movie releases, no other movie is released on the same date. But this time the scenario is different. The director Bhansali has challenged SRK by releasing the movie Saawariya on the same date ( 9th November). SRK’s new movie is Om Shanti Om. Now this movie’s promos have simply disappointed me because of SRK’s bare body (the upper half). SRK’s body structure is not as good as that of Salman Khan or Hrithik Roshan. In the film, he seems to copy Hrithik Roshan’s images.    SRK has now become a renowned copymaster. In the movie ‘Don’ he tried to ‘copy’ Big B, Amitabh Bachchan by voice, hair style and similar make-up. On the other hand, the movie Sawaariya has good star cast like Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor looks like a chocolate hero. His initial charms impressed women fans. Even SRK has admitted that. The box office success now depends on how nicely Ranvir Kapoor can act. Also the film’s storyline should be good. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has his own artistic ways of picturing films. Let’s see has ‘The Rebellion’ created any magic in Saawariya or not. One thing I can tell you people surely. The title track of Saawariya has beaten the title track of Om Shanti Om.  So,  heat of battle is getting hotter. If still the movie Om Shanti Om, becomes a hit, it will be because of SRK’s loyal, old, crazy fans and film’s clever advertisement policy. But remember, using Hrithik Roshan’s famous dialogue, the newcomer Ranbir Kapoor can say to the present king of Bollywood, “Give me a break”.
